12-Month Distribution & Push Campaign

Put the Right Book in Front of the Right Communities.

A 12-month strategic distribution and visibility campaign designed to identify the audiences, communities, institutions, organisations, and professional spaces where an author's book naturally belongs.

Campaign period: August 2026 to August 2027

The campaign is a research, positioning and outreach service. It is selective, each book is evaluated individually, and outreach does not guarantee sales, reviews, library placements, media coverage, endorsements, or acceptance by any organisation.

What the campaign does

Most books do not need more noise. They need the right rooms.

Many books never need to compete for attention everywhere. They need to be discovered by the readers, groups and institutions already interested in their subject, themes, genre or message, which is a research problem before it is a promotional one.

So the campaign begins with study rather than spend. We read the book, establish what it is genuinely about, and then map the communities, organisations and professional spaces where that subject is already being discussed.

From there the work is patient and specific: targeted introductions, relevant follow-up and a positioning angle that explains why this book belongs in that particular conversation. Visibility built this way accumulates across a year instead of peaking for a week.

The work, in short

  • Identifying natural reader communities
  • Finding relevant organisations and institutions
  • Building targeted outreach opportunities
  • Expanding visibility beyond general retail platforms
  • Connecting books with professional and literary communities
  • Developing long-term visibility rather than one promotional push
  • Positioning each book around the conversations it can contribute to

What we offer

Ten areas of research, positioning and outreach.

Not every author receives every area. The campaign is shaped around what a specific book can credibly support, and specialised paths are only used where the subject matter genuinely calls for them.

Area 01

Reader Community Outreach

We identify and approach relevant reader communities, book clubs, genre communities, discussion groups and interest-based audiences that naturally align with the book.

Area 02

Library Outreach

We research relevant libraries and library communities where the book's subject matter, genre or audience may be appropriate for consideration.

Area 03

Book Club & Reading Group Outreach

We identify book clubs, reading groups, literary communities and discussion groups that may have an organic connection to the book.

Area 04

Educational & Academic Outreach

Where the subject matter is relevant, we explore appropriate opportunities with universities, colleges, educators, professors, academic programmes and educational communities.

Area 05

Literary Organization Outreach

We research literary organisations, writing communities, literary programmes, festivals and organisations whose interests align with the author's work.

Area 06

Independent Bookseller Outreach

We identify independent bookstores and bookselling communities where the book may have a natural audience or thematic connection.

Area 07

Professional & Industry Community Outreach

We identify professional associations, subject-matter communities, organisations, conferences and networks connected to the themes or expertise represented in the book.

Area 08

Science, Technology & Futurism Outreach

For relevant books only, we explore communities focused on science, technology, innovation, futurism, consciousness, society and the future. This is an example of a specialised outreach path, not something every author receives.

Area 09

Author & Book Positioning

We develop a stronger positioning angle around what makes the book meaningful to specific audiences. Instead of presenting a book only by its genre, we explore the larger question, conversation, problem, experience or idea that makes the book relevant to particular communities.

Area 10

Decision-Maker & Influencer Outreach

We research the people who influence what communities read, discuss, recommend, teach or feature: librarians, book-club organisers, educators, professors, literary-programme coordinators, independent booksellers, community leaders, conference organisers, discussion facilitators and relevant industry professionals. The objective is targeted introduction and visibility, never guaranteed endorsement or placement.

Beyond genre

Your book may belong to more conversations than you think.

A genre label describes a shelf. It rarely describes everything a book is about, and the extra subjects are often where the most receptive communities are found.

Science fiction

May also belong in conversations about technology, consciousness, philosophy, futurism, humanity, education and the future.

Memoir

May connect with communities focused on identity, recovery, family, resilience and personal transformation.

Business

May connect with entrepreneurs, professional organisations, leadership communities, educational programmes and industry networks.

The campaign looks for these natural intersections and pursues the ones that hold up under research. Some intersections will not, and we say so.

Our 12-month approach

A campaign that develops, rather than a launch that ends.

Actual opportunities vary by book. Outreach does not guarantee acceptance, placement, sales, reviews, or a response.

Phase 1

Discovery & Positioning

We understand the book, its themes, ideal audiences, genre, subject matter and strongest positioning opportunities.

Phase 2

Audience & Opportunity Mapping

We identify relevant reader communities, libraries, organisations, institutions, professional networks, educational environments, booksellers and other appropriate opportunities.

Phase 3

Targeted Outreach

We develop personalised outreach and introductions written for the specific audience or organisation being approached.

Phase 4

Visibility & Relationship Building

We continue appropriate follow-up, identify emerging opportunities and build sustained awareness around the book.

Phase 5

Expansion & Refinement

We review which types of audiences and opportunities show the strongest relevance, and refine the campaign accordingly.

Who this is for

Is Your Book a Natural Fit for This Campaign?

The campaign is often most useful for books with strong themes, specialised subjects, educational value, professional relevance, or the potential to generate meaningful conversations. No genre qualifies automatically, and every book is evaluated individually.

Examples we often research well

  • Science fiction & speculative fiction
  • Memoir & personal stories
  • Self-help & personal development
  • Business & entrepreneurship
  • Leadership
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Science & technology
  • Spirituality
  • Education
  • Social issues
  • Inspirational books
  • Specialised nonfiction
  • Literary fiction with strong thematic relevance

Why a 12-month campaign?

One book. Twelve months. Multiple opportunities to be discovered.

A single launch moment gives a book one chance to be noticed, usually by the same general audience every other book is addressing that week. A longer period changes what is possible.

Across twelve months there is room to research different audiences, test more than one positioning angle, pursue opportunities as they appear rather than only when they are convenient, and build visibility gradually in the places where the book's subject matter already matters.

We do not promise specific results from the period. We commit to the research, the outreach and an honest account of what came back.

What makes this different

Two ways to spend a year of a book's life.

Both approaches have their place. This campaign simply starts from research into a specific book rather than from a general promotional calendar.

Traditional promotion

  • Broad audience targeting
  • Short promotional bursts
  • Heavy focus on general exposure
  • One-size-fits-all messaging

12-Month Distribution & Push Campaign

  • Book-specific positioning
  • Targeted community research
  • Institution and organisation discovery
  • Personalised outreach
  • Long-term visibility strategy
  • Multiple audience pathways
  • Ongoing refinement

Example campaign

One book, mapped: Jumpers.

A single speculative title can sit inside a dozen separate conversations. Mapping them is the first half of the work; deciding which are worth pursuing is the second.

01Science-fiction readers
02Speculative-fiction communities
03Philosophy discussions
04Consciousness communities
05Science & technology audiences
06Futurism communities
07Libraries
08University programmes
09Book clubs
10Literary organisations
11Independent booksellers
12Conference and discussion communities

These are examples of possible research directions for one speculative title. They are not guaranteed placements, and every book produces a different map.

The people behind the conversation

Reach Beyond Readers. Reach the People Who Shape Conversations.

Readers find many books through someone they trust: a librarian, a bookseller, a teacher, a group organiser. Those people are researched and approached with the same care as the audiences themselves.

The goal is to introduce the book where its ideas and subject matter are genuinely relevant. Whether an introduction leads anywhere is always their decision, and we report it either way.

Who we research

  • Librarians
  • Educators
  • Professors
  • Book-club organisers
  • Independent booksellers
  • Literary-programme coordinators
  • Community leaders
  • Conference organisers
  • Discussion facilitators
  • Relevant professional contacts

Campaign process

Five steps, repeated and refined across the period.

Review, position, research, outreach, build. The first three are why the last two are worth doing.

01

Review

We study the book and understand its strongest themes and audience opportunities.

02

Position

We identify the conversations and communities where the book can naturally belong.

03

Research

We map relevant organisations, institutions, communities and professional contacts.

04

Outreach

We develop targeted and personalised outreach based on the opportunity.

05

Build

We continue identifying relevant opportunities throughout the campaign period.

Author enquiry

Tell us about your book.

A few details are enough to begin. We read every enquiry ourselves and reply with an honest view of whether the campaign suits the book.

Questions

What authors ask about the campaign.

Is every author accepted onto the campaign?

No. The campaign is selective and each book is evaluated individually. Where we do not believe a book has communities we can research credibly, we say so rather than sell you a year of activity.

Do you guarantee library placements or book-club selections?

No. We research and approach relevant libraries, groups and organisations. Every one of them makes its own decision, and many will not respond at all.

How is this different from advertising?

Advertising buys attention broadly. This campaign researches where a book already belongs and introduces it there, then keeps refining that map across twelve months.

What will I actually receive?

A positioning angle for the book, a researched map of relevant communities and organisations, personalised outreach carried out on the book's behalf, and a record of who was approached and what came back.

Does the campaign have to run the full period?

The programme is designed for the August 2026 to August 2027 period so positioning can be tested and refined. Scope, fees and duration are confirmed in writing before any work begins.

Next step

Your book may have a larger audience than the obvious one.

Let us explore where your book naturally belongs and what communities, organisations, institutions and professional spaces may be worth reaching.
